It's nice to see that Emily is back on the convention circuit again. She has many adoring fans who I'm sure will love to have the opportunity to see her. It is also great to see her with Katharine again. I'm sure this con will be fun for all Emily's of fans and, hopefully, Emily as well. I hope this generates lots of new pictures of our lovely Ms Perkins too. There can never be too many of those.

The Advertisement for the convention that runs on local TV has her listed as "Emily Harris". What is wrong with them? Emily is sweet enough to fly all the way out from BC to Illinois and put up with crazy fans for three days and get a cramp in her wrist from signing autographs for what I'm betting isn't a lot of money, and they don't even have the decency to get her name right?! This saddens me deeply. Emily deserves so much better than this.

I am sitting here, still trying to calm down after what I'm sure I will always consider to be the best two days of my life. That's right, I met her. I met Emily! When I arrived to claim my ticket I saw her sitting at her table. The room was empty of anything else to me. I went straight to her. I could barely form a sentence, I was so nervous. She was so patient with me as I attempted to articulate my appreciation for her and her work. I must have seemed like an idiot, but I didn't even care. Every chance I got, I would come back to see her again, and every time, she would smile and say hello. She is every bit the sweetheart that everyone says she is, and more. She even remembered my name! She was kind enough to shoot not one, but two video segments for me and let me take a picture with her too. I had her sign a couple things as well. Then, at the reception, she came and sat right next to me! By the time the first day was over, I had even gotten to hug her. "Kill me now." I thought. "It doesn't get any better than this!" The second day, I saw her some more. I spent as much time as I could around her. I must have seemed creepy, but I just couldn't help it. She is so beautiful, inside and out. My favorite person in the whole world! Two days later and I still haven't come down from the high I got just being with Emily. I know that to her I was just another face in the crowd, but it really meant everything to me. If you ever get a chance to meet her, even for a minute, do it! She is the nicest, sweetest, most wonderful woman alive. Thank you Emily.

Great story Zack. It's really cool that Emily is willing to go beyond signing autographs and shoot a short video for a fan. I really wanted to ask her if she'd be willing to do a quick ten minute Q & A for the Yahoo group in the hotel lobby after she was done signing autographs for the day, but I couldn't get the nerve to ask her. Reading your post really makes me regret not asking. I'm really enjoying all the pictures you're digging up from the event. Keep up the great work!

Yeah, I am still sort of in a state of disbelief over the whole thing. I can't believe it happened!
Emily was beyond nice. I had heard people say that she was really sweet and everything, but she surpassed my expectations by leaps and bounds.
Of course, as soon as I was home I started thinking of things I wish I had asked her. Oh well, I got to talk to her more than I ever thought I would, so I am happy. I hope her trip back home went well and I hope she is enjoying some time with her son now. From what she says, he is really smart. Just like his mother.

What all did you get autographed while you were there?

I only had three things signed (though I have nearly all of Emily's work, I didn't want to go broke.) I had both Emily and Katie sign my Ginger Snaps boxed set and a GS2 publicity photo that I printed. I also had Katie sign a DVD of "The Last Casino" for my brother. They were both really wonderful people. I had a question for Katie about a friend and she was so nice to give me an answer to help him out. Very sweet. And of course meeting Emily is the biggest deal EVER to me, so I am very happy with the whole trip.
