This is a film about two young sisters who don't quite fit in. As if they haven't enough troubles, one of them falls victim to an attack that leaves her with a bad case of becoming a werewolf as well as a woman. This movie could have stopped there, but in addition to a good monster flick, we are treated to a wonderful allegory for puberty as well.
This is not a horror movie. This is a drama with a horror theme. This is a smart film in a sea of slasher clones, and if you don't watch it, you are missing out on one of the best movies ever made. Also, it just wouldn't be a proper post if I didn't say how awesome Emily was as Brigitte. Emily was awesome. Katharine Isabelle was also very good in her rather difficult role as Ginger, Brigitte's older sister.

Hey Everybody!!! Just bought the "Ginger snaps" DVD box. I've never seen any of these movie before, so I'm very exited about that. As soon as i can, I'll write my impressions. Here in Italy we know all these movie as LICANTROPIA EVOLUTION(Ginger snaps) - LICANTROPIA APOCALYPSE (Ginger snaps: unleashed) - LICANTROPIA (Ginger snaps: the beginning). So i was thinking that LICANTROPIA(which actually is a prequel, but the last one in chronological order) was the first movie made instead of being the last one!!! They made a mistake with the title!!! What can i say...Italy ;-D

Yester-night i saw "Ginger Snaps" for the first time, and...WOW!!! ;D It's a very good movie, i liked it so much. The character "Brigitte" is so introvert but at the same time so lovely and fragile. Emily did a great job in this role. There's a scene, i don't remember when exactly, when Brigitte says: "What if i say no?!" This line immediately reminds me to the scene in "Stephen king's IT" when Beverly(Emily) is arguing with her father and says :"I said no!!!" I can't wait to see "Ginger Snaps 2" tonight.
